I grew up in Cornwall and North Devon and read English at St Hugh's College, Oxford. After 20 years working in the City ( last role was Head of UK Institutional Business at Gartmore Asset Management), I quit in 2001 to write full time. In fact, I ended up teaching English in a small rural prep school in Dorset for four years, writing plays and adapting Shakespeare for young children.
In 2008, I moved to East Devon and started painting seriously after attending one of Christine Allison's courses. Christine is a wonderful, insightful teacher and continues to act as my mentor and as a source of inspiration.
I had two fabulously inspirational and instructive days with celebrated portrait painter, Binny Mathews, and her brilliant exposition of colour theory has helped me take my work to a new level.
I installed a studio in the garden in 2010.
I have had two private shows at home, exhibited at Lyme Regis ArtsFest  ( 2009 ), the TMAG summer exhibition at the Town Mill, Lyme Regis and two joint shows with Ian Harbour in the Courtyard Gallery, Lyme, in February 2010 and with Brian Matravers in August 2011.

New show planned for 2013: 'Life, Death, Love'.

I will be taking part in the joint TMAG/Lyme Regis ArtsFest Jubilee exhibition at the Town Mill Galleries in May/June and in Lyme Regis ArtsFest 8th to 16th September.
